The Uintah School District is proud to announce that MarKay Anderson, an exceptional educator from Ashley Elementary School, has been named the districtās Teacher of the Year.

With over 33 years of teaching experience, Anderson has made a profound impact on the lives of her students and colleagues. She is widely recognized for her ability to create a nurturing learning environment where all students feel valued and inspired to excel.
āMarKayās commitment to helping every student succeed is unmatched,ā Ashley Elementary Principal Tawna Baumgardner said. āShe is particularly skilled at working with students who struggle with reading, and her ability to teach those who need it most is nothing short of extraordinary. She has a unique talent for meeting each child where they are and providing the individualized support they need to thrive academically.ā
Beyond her classroom, Anderson is a mentor to fellow educators, continuously sharing her expertise and passion for teaching. She has played a key role in developing curriculum initiatives, incorporating new technologies into instruction, and fostering a culture of collaboration at Ashley Elementary.
In a letter of recommendation, USD instructional coach Carrie Weldon highlighted Andersonās long-standing dedication to her students and their learning.
