The Uintah School District is pleased to announce that Cynthia Shiner, a dedicated member of the Transportation Department, has been named the district’s Classified Employee of the Year.

Shiner was chosen for this recognition based, in part, on her unwavering commitment to student safety, her exceptional work ethic, and her positive influence on colleagues and students alike.

Shiner is a cornerstone of the Transportation Department, ensuring that students arrive safely and on time to their destinations every day. Her attention to detail, professionalism, and compassionate approach to her work have made her an indispensable part of the school district.

ā€œCynthia is dependable, hardworking, and she exemplifies our district’s core values in the way she serves her coworkers, students, and the public,ā€ USD Transportation Coordinator Mark Rich said. ā€œShe cares deeply for the students, and she understands the important role transportation plays in education.ā€

Shiner not only excels in her duties but also serves as a mentor and role model for her peers. She has been instrumental in training new drivers, refining safety protocols, and fostering a team-oriented atmosphere within the department.

In a letter of recommendation, Uintah High School Activities Secretary Kirstin Christophersen praised Shiner’s work ethic, problem-solving skills, and positive attitude.

ā€œShe happily helps wherever needed and spreads kindness to everyone she encounters,ā€ Christophersen wrote. ā€œShe goes above and beyond in every aspect of her job.ā€

Beyond her professional role, Shiner is actively involved in community initiatives and programs that support students and families. Her selflessness and commitment to making a difference extend well beyond the school district.

Please join us in congratulating Cynthia Shiner on this well-deserved award.
