Weekly District Update graphic

New guidance from the U.S. Department of Homeland Security this week states that federal immigration officers will now be allowed to enforce immigration laws in and near sensitive areas, including schools, which were previously considered off-limits. The Uintah School District understands this is a concern for many in our community and want you to know we are aware of this change in federal policy.

Please know that the Uintah School District:

  • Remains committed to providing a safe and welcoming learning environment for all students.

  • Will continue to follow the laws that guarantee that ALL children in the United States have a right to a free and appropriate education.

  • DOES NOT collect or share information about the immigration status of our students.

  • Encourages parents/guardians to contact the front office of their childā€™s school to make sure their contact information and their studentā€™s emergency contact information is accurate and up to date. Emergency contacts can be family members OR a trusted adult designated by the parent or guardian, and their information can be updated by speaking with the secretary at your childā€™s school.

  • Will have counselors and social workers at all our schools who are available if students experience any anxiety, stress or fears in response to changes in federal immigration enforcement guidelines.

We remain committed to providing an equitable and supportive learning environment for every student.ā€Ø
