Role of a School Social Worker

School social workers play a vital role in supporting students' academic success and overall well-being by addressing social, emotional, and behavioral challenges. They work closely with students, families, and school staff to create a safe, supportive, and inclusive learning environment.

Their responsibilities include providing individual and group counseling, crisis intervention, and mental health support. They also connect families with community resources, advocate for student needs, and collaborate with educators to develop behavioral interventions and support plans.

By addressing non-academic barriers to learning, school social workers help ensure that all students have the opportunity to succeed in school and beyond.
